Military equipment

Production of military equipment in Sweden is controlled including; military training in Sweden, production under licence of Swedish equipment overseas, joint development of equipment with a party overseas, mediation in procurement of military equipment overseas.

Dual-use products

Dual-use products have established civilian functions while they can also be used in the production or facilitation of weapons of mass destruction and other military equipment or for other military purposes.

Chemical Weapons Convention

The Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) prohibits the use and possession of chemical weapons. CWC also includes rules for the destruction of chemical weapons and facilities used for their production. In addition, CWC involves controlling the chemical industry to prevent chemical weapons being produced again.

Sanctions

Directed sanctions limits alternatively stops certain exports or financial support to countries that are suspected of having ambitions to obtain or develop weapons of mass destruction.
